This home is oriented towards a lake, so the Grinslades incorporated specially designed windows to maximize views from the great room, main floor master suite, den, sunroom and upstairs bedroom. Painted brick makes this home bright and cherry. The wide lot made it possible to position the garage at the rear.

In designing this traditional colonial, the Grinslades tried to remain as true to an authentic Georgian colonial as possible. However, Tom included some elements of the traditional home hew grew up in and features essential for today's busy families, such as a three car garage and modern conveniences. Some of the details of the exterior include dentil moldings, cornice over windows, wide shutters, and panels under windows.

Trees on this wide lot frame this contemporary home beautifully. A limestone arch in the entry emphasizes the front door, and gables stretch across the front for a very pleasant curb appeal.

This family room was designed with round-topped windows looking out over a rear deck for a fantastic view of the trees and the backyard. Other features include: a wall of custom woodwork, a door to the deck, a Majestic fireplace, brick hearth and surround.
